Glenn McHardie
Director
Registered Architect
Glenn McHardie has over 30 years of experience across architecture, construction, and property, spanning residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
A Registered Architect, business owner, certified business coach, and property investor, he brings a rare mix of design expertise, commercial judgement, and leadership experience. His background includes senior roles as Architect, Director, and General Manager within multidisciplinary practices, along with founding The Business Architect, where he helps design and construction professionals build stronger businesses.
As owner of Proconsult, Glenn is focused on leading a practical, client-focused team delivering buildable solutions that protect design intent and create lasting value.
Outside of work, Glenn enjoys art, golf, travel, and cruising in his ’66 Mustang with his wife, Jynel. They have three daughters, all at university, including their eldest, Kaia, who is completing her Masters of Architecture.

Kartheeban Nirmalananthan
Engineering/ Operational Manager
CPEng, CMEngNZ, IntPE(NZ), AMIE (SL)
Kartheeban is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 17 years of experience in structural design, analysis, and project delivery across residential, commercial & industrial projects.
He has led and contributed to complex developments including high-rise buildings, industrial facilities, and modular construction (PPVC), bringing a strong focus on buildability, efficiency, and sustainable design.
Kartheeban works closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, practical engineering solutions that meet programme, budget, and quality expectations.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing cricket, and watching movies

Fei Dong
Senior Structural Engineer
BE(Hons), CPEng, CMEngNZ
Fei has been exposed to a wide range of facets of structural engineering. This includes but is not limited to low-rise commercial and industrial buildings, residential houses, government structures and healthcare projects.
She has experience as a structural engineer with an interest and strong capability in earthquake engineering and new technologies.
Fei works synergistically in a team environment and uses innovative approaches to find solutions to every challenge that presents itself.
Outside of work, Fei enjoys going to the gym, socialising, and maintaining an active lifestyle.

Stewart Hobbs
Consultant to Practice
Stewart is a chartered Engineer and has range of engineering, maintenance and project management experience, with his 30 years in design, construction & consulting.
He enjoys client and council liaison and has provided consultancy services to many councils and companies within New Zealand. His areas of expertise are in concrete and corrosion remedial works.
Over the years his projects have included the design of high rise carparks, consulting to large industrial sites for their maintenance programmes, management of water ingress liabilities for body corporates, and many hundreds of residential designs and rebuilds among others.
He knows about providing practical, workable designs.
Among his professional achievements, Stewart’s contributions include:

Irving Yang
Intermediate Structural Engineer
BEng, PGDipEng, CAPM
Irving Yang is an Intermediate engineer at ProConsult. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering (Civil Engineering) at the University of Auckland School of Engineering.
Irving began his career in the construction industry as a Project Manager, where he gained practical experience and professional qualifications in project management. He later joined Proconsult, where he developed experience in structural and light civil design for residential and small-scale commercial projects.
He is proficient in preparing engineering calculations, technical drawings, and construction documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards and building codes. Irving demonstrates technical capability, coordination skills, and problem-solving ability, with a focus on delivering practical and efficient engineering solutions.
He is comfortable speaking English and Mandarin Chinese.Irving’s mantra: “The past is behind, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here, live it.”
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, and has a deep love for travel.. exploring new in places

Maikal Patel
Junior Structural Engineer
BEngTech, BE STR (Hons), MEngNZ
Maikal is a motivated Junior Structural Engineer with over five years of experience in New Zealand, working on residential, commercial, and light industrial projects. He supports both structural and architectural aspects from concept to approvals, including additions, alterations, repairs, and maintenance.
He has strong skills in structural analysis, design coordination, and project support, producing clear drafting and documentation. Maikal also liaises with council for BC and RC and has experience with fire reports, drainage, and flood assessments, providing versatile expertise to help projects progress while ensuring compliance and safety. Working closely with senior team members, he continues to develop his competencies through guidance, knowledge, and hands-on training.
Outside of work, Maikal enjoys playing cricket, travelling, and exploring vegetarian cuisine.

Priyesh Bhatia
Junior Structural Engineer
BE(Civil) Hons, MEngNZ(EP)
Priyesh is a dedicated Junior Structural Engineer with almost three years of engineering experience in New Zealand.
He has a strong foundation in structural principles and contributes to a wide range of projects, including retaining walls, house alterations, and new residential builds, ensuring alignment with Building Code requirements.
Known for his technical capability, attention to detail, and strong work ethic, Priyesh brings a proactive and learning‑focused mindset to every project. His commitment to continuous development and adaptability allows him to deliver reliable, high‑quality engineering solutions and support project teams effectively.
Outside of work, Priyesh enjoys singing, playing sports, staying active outdoors, exploring new technology and gaming – interests that reflect his balanced, active, and well‑rounded lifestyle.

Roger French
Senior Architectural Designer
Bachelor of Architecture
Roger is a senior architectural designer.
He obtained his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Unitec in 2003. He has worked predominantly in New Zealand, with a couple of years spent working with a small practice in Cardiff in the UK.
He has wide-ranging experience, from residential, multi-unit/multi-storey apartments, retail, sports facilities to commercial. He has also worked on remediation of fire and water-damaged buildings.
He has a passion for sustainability, and loves to be outdoors. He teaches kayaking and helps to run a kayaking club in his spare time.
Hiroko Shibuya
Administration Manager
BA
Hiroko has a BA in Literature, and with her 30 years of experience in administration work, plus some interior/architectural coordination work, she keeps the office well organised and managed.
Before the onset of kids, Hiroko used to travel and sail more. If you have any queries regarding accounts, then Hiroko is your first port of call.

Civil Engineering Auckland - Small Works
Do you need retaining walls? Siteworks or temporary works? Drainage can be especially complicated, but we have worked all over Auckland and further afield managing stormwater and wastewater for small lots.

Structural Engineering Commercial and Industrial
We can undertake the entire structural engineering process or give assistance to other teams. For larger projects, the structural engineering services will involve a Prime Consultant.
