ProConsult has a range of services to suit small jobs like inspections or beam designs and up to larger projects. We can either work alone or alongside your architect and builder.

Stewart Hobbs

Principal Engineer
BE, MBA, FIPENZ, CPEng, IntPE

Stewart is the founder and chartered Principal Engineer of ProConsult. Stewart underpins the business with a broad range of engineering, maintenance and project management experience, with his 30 years in design, construction & consulting.

He enjoys client and council liaison and has provided consultancy services to many councils and major companies within New Zealand and beyond. His areas of expertise are in concrete and corrosion remedial works.

Over the years his projects have included the design of high rise carparks, consulting to large industrial sites for their maintenance programmes, management of water ingress liabilities for body corporates, and many hundreds of residential designs and rebuilds among others.

Having worked in isolated countries such as Somalia & the central Pacific, Stewart is aware of the need to plan well ahead to facilitate efficient projects. He also knows about providing practical, workable designs. Stewart is building the ProConsult team with a view to strengthening the capability of the structural engineering team, supported by an excellent drafting line-up.

Fei Dong - Senior Structural Engineer at ProConsult (1)

Fei Dong

Senior Structural Engineer
BE(Hons), CPEng, CMEngNZ

Fei has been exposed to all facets of structural engineering. This includes but is not limited to low-rise commercial and industrial buildings, residential houses, government structures and healthcare projects.

She has experience as a structural engineer with an interest and strong capability in earthquake engineering and new technologies. Fei works synergistically in a team environment and uses innovative approaches to find solutions to every challenge that presents itself.

Aingaran Manokaran

Senior Engineer
BE(Hons.) CPEng (NZ & AUS) CMEngNZ MIEAust APEC Engineer IntPE (Aus) NER (Aus)

Aingaran started his career in structural engineering in 2014 in New Zealand. Aingaran has worked on numerous residential projects of various scales plus light industrial structures, bridge design, bridge maintenance and somemedium-to-high rise commercial building design. He also has a background with construction monitoring.

Aingaran prides himself in providing structural design documentation and solutions in a timely manner to avoid delays to programme. He has also proven to to clients, builders and architects to be a good communicator.

Aingaran works well in a team, and enjoys training other staff members as well as learning from his peers.

Asher Fandy - Senior Engineer

Asher Fandy

Senior Engineer
BSc (Civil Eng)

Having arrived in New Zealand in 2018, Asher previously worked in Singapore and Indonesia. He is a versatile structural engineer who has almost ten years of experience working as a design structural engineer, and an on-site engineer within commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Asher obtained his bachelor’s degree from the University of California Berkeley in the United States where he developed his passion for sports, especially basketball.

Asher is comfortable speaking English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Irving Yang - Structural Engineer from ProConsult Structural Engineering in Auckland

Irving Yang

Graduate Engineer
BEng, PGDipEng, CAPM

Irving Yang is a graduate engineer at ProConsult. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Nanjing University of Science and Technology Zijin College in China, focusing on his maths and physics skills. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma of Engineering in Civil Engineering three years ago at the University of Auckland School of Engineering. Equipped with those qualifications, Irving joined the construction industry as a project manager and became qualified in this area. Gaining good hands-on knowledge in prefab and modular building, Irving is now ready to focus his career on gaining experience as a professional engineer in order to be able to solve technical issues for his client. He is comfortable speaking English and Mandarin Chinese.

Irving’s mantra: “The past is behind, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here, live it.”

Jillian Owler

Senior Architectural Designer 
BAS, NDAT, NDQS

Jillian is a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) candidate (UNITEC) and her career spans over 20 years of working on residential, healthcare, education, commercial & industrial building projects.

Jillian is comfortable using AutoCAD, ArchiCAD & Revit, & loves working in 3D. During August in Auckland, you’ll often Jill in a movie theatre for the International Film Festival.

Eman - ProConsult

Eman Yousef

Architectural Graduate
BSC, MSC

Eman graduated as an Architect from Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt. She is a member of the Egyptian Engineers Syndicate. She expanded her knowledge by acquiring an M.Sc in architectural engineering from the same university.

Eman moved to New Zealand around 5.5 years ago and joined the team at ProConsult then. She has joined the master’s program at Auckland University School of Architecture. Her digital experience with design programmes includes ArchiCad, AutoCad, and Photoshop.

Eman’s work with ProConsult has involved large residential projects and she has good experience in NZ design code requirements and Building Consent procedures. She participates in site surveys and architectural design alterations.

Eman is passionate about architecture and has excellent free-hand sketching skills.

Eman and Proconsult Ltd won the ADNZ Regional (Auckland) award in August 23 for their New Home over 300m2.

Tahuna is a concrete, angle-plan house in Waiotaiki Bay next to a nature reserve, with long unimpeded views across the Tamaki estuary. The modern tilt slab concrete house has massive spectacles of water, sky and greenery and is softened with timber louvres.

Judges commented on the “…clever, sophisticated design… very courageous and daring”.

Hiroko Shibuya

Administration Manager

Hiroko has a BA in Literature, and with her 30 years of experience in administration work, plus some interior/architectural coordination work, she keeps the office well organised and managed.

Before the onset of kids, Hiroko used to travel and sail more. If you have any queries regarding accounts, then Hiroko is your first port of call.
